How our dance began
Sebastian and Laura met at the PMDWC (Postmodern Dance World Championship) in Moscow in 2017. After years of honing his dance skills from musical theatre and First Holy Communion parties, Sebastian "The Dirty Jersey Devil" was favored to win the competition with his signature move, "Nonna's Gnocchi." However, upon seeing Laura "Truly Weird" Oberbeck perform, he knew he had met his match. She spent the entirety of her performance doing just facial expressions. They both tied for last place, and a small Honduran boy, Dimas, took home the gold. To grieve their loss, they got drinks at Zona Rosa, a Williamsburg wine bar; and found out that neither of them drank, so they sipped water and talked for seven hours. Sebastian asked Laura to be his lifelong dance partner, and the rest... is herstory.
We can't wait for the people we love to be in a room together dancing the night away to celebrate our elopement and the love we've shared for 9 years. Our dance party is not only a celebration of our love, but of all the love we have with friends and family. Whether you can make it or not, thank you for being part of our lives.
